The same 5%-relaxation, flat-10-word-per-mistake formula applies across CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB Head Constable (Ministerial) posts: Net Speed = (words typed − (mistakes beyond the forgiven 5%) × 10) ÷ minutes, where mistakes beyond that allowance is floored at 0. This is now implemented exactly (fullErrorPenalty 10, halfErrorPenalty 5, 5% relaxation), not approximated.
CRPF's own skill test specifically runs screen-to-screen (the passage is shown on the monitor, not printed on paper) with Backspace disabled -- confirmed as CRPF's own distinct setting, unlike BSF's paper-to-screen format with Backspace enabled (see BSF HCM's own category notes).
Passage length is roughly 1,750 keystrokes (350 words) in English or 1,500 keystrokes (300 words) in Hindi over the 10-minute test. English uses Times New Roman; Hindi uses Mangal.
