English and Hindi are tested separately, 5 minutes each, in the real exam (this simulation runs one language for the full duration).
Backspace may correct only the current word and the one word immediately before it — a maximum of two words in total; you cannot go back further to fix an earlier mistake. Hindi is typed in Kruti Dev 010 or Mangal, per the notification.
Each word in the passage is highlighted one at a time as you type it, moving to the next word once you press Space.
The real formula -- confirmed against a worked example (180 words, 6 full + 4 half mistakes, grace 5, penalty 15 words, net speed 33 WPM) -- forgives a FLAT 5 mistakes (full mistakes + half mistakes ÷ 2) regardless of words typed; only mistakes beyond that grace cost 5 words each. This is now implemented exactly (fullErrorPenalty 5, halfErrorPenalty 2.5, errorGraceCount 5), not just narrated.
